The Postgraduate Diploma in Cardiology is a two-year course that aims to equip physicians to provide intermediate level and emergency cardiac care to outpatients as well as inpatients in peripheral hospitals.

At the end of this program, a Dip. Card. trainee will be able to recognize common cardiac conditions, appropriately manage common cardiac conditions (including cardiac emergencies), identify patients that need to be referred for further diagnostic workup or management, become familiar with invasive and non invasive cardiac procedures.

NICVD has collaborated with Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) for this program and upon completion, DUHS issues the NICVD Diploma in Cardiology to students.



Eligibility Requirements

Candidates who meet the requirements below are eligible to apply for the Dip.Card program:-
-Completed  M.B.B.S. Degree
-One year house job [Recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council]
-Government employees must get a clearance from their appropriate department if admitted.


Application and Selection Process

The Admission Session 2017 – 2018 has been closed.

The Entrance test will be held on THURSDAY, 24th NOVEMBER, 2016 at Professional Skills Development Centre and Lecture Room, Nursing Hostel, NICVD, KARACHI.

Eligible candidates are advised to collect their admit cards from Post Graduate Section, 5th Floor, NICVD, Karachi (during office hours). All information regarding exam will be provided with admit card.

Entrance to the Examination Hall will only be allowed on presentation of the ADMIT CARD, issued by the institute and original computerized national identity card (CNIC).

An interview will take place before final selection of the candidate. Date of interview will be announced later.

No TA/DA will be paid neither accommodation will be provided to any candidate. Selected candidates will have to make their own accommodation arrangements.

Successful candidates will be informed by phone and email. Admission fee Rs.25000/- will have to be submitted to confirm the selection.

Course will start from 1st January, 2017.
