Social Welfare

Abiding by our mission, the Social Welfare Department exists to guarantee that no patient leaves NICVD without receiving the treatment that he/she needs regardless of the medical expenses involved. Through our donations and Zakaat fund, the Social Welfare department provides financial assistance to non-affording patients. In the year 2013-2014, nearly 50,000 of our patients were treated through Zakaat and donations for various procedures.

The Out Patient Department is an indispensable part of NICVD as this is the first point of contact with our patients.
Catering to at least 500,000 patients per year, our OPD is equipped with its own ECG, ETT and Laboratory facilities as well as a Pharmacy where medicines are provided at minimal rates to patients on a fortnightly basis.
OPD Schedule and Timings

In the event of a cardiac emergency, it is needless to say that time means muscle. Rest assured that at the Emergency Department of NICVD, time is of vital importance to our physicians and medical staff.

Patients rushed in with cardiac emergencies manifested by chest pains, shortness of breath, palpitations and other symptoms are provided rapid appropriate treatment by our trained physicians, cardiologists, skilled nurses and nurse aid.

The emergency department at NICVD is accessible 24 hours, 7 days a week and consists of separate areas for males and females. Coordinating with local ambulance services in the city of Karachi, we receive and tend to an average of 600 patients per day.

Treatments & Surgeries

Amongst a host of cardiac related treatments, NICVD specialises in the field of Paediatric Procedures, Interventional Procedures and Non-Interventional Procedures.

Physiotherapy and Rehab

Our physiotherapy department has existed since 1977 and works in conjunction with and outside of the Rehabilitation and Prevention Center.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Department was established in 1996 to serve patients who have survived a cardiac event to live a heart healthy life in the future.
