Dr. Parveen Akhtar graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi. She then completed her Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) in Medicine and Cardiology. She is also a Diplomate Comprehensive Echocardiography, Diplomate Advanced Preoperative TEE and Diplomate Cardiac CT. She is currently an active member of Pakistan Cardiac Society and Cardiology Teaching Resource Committee at NICVD. She has authored 7 Research papers. She actively participates in almost all undergraduate & postgraduate teaching activities of cardiology department, medical college and the hospital. She was awarded the Young Clinician Award at the conference held at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad on December 2006.
