APRIL 20, 2021 – NICVD SETS UP ITS 31ST CENTRE AT MALIR CANTT

Karachi: National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in collaboration with the Government of Sindh has established its 31st Centre now at “Malir Cantonment, CMB Heath Centre, Karachi” to facilitate patients with chest pain with easy access and free of cost services.

The soft opening of the Centre held on Monday, April 19, 2021. The soft opening ceremony was attended by the executive director of NICVD, Professor Nadeem Qamar and other official of the Institute.

The Centre at Malir Cantonment, is 16 Chest Pain Unit of NICVD in Karachi Metropolitan; Moreover, 1 Chest Pain Unit in Tando Bago, 1 in Ghotki, 1 in Jacobabad, 1 in Umerkot and 1 in Tando Allahyar, are functional and providing state-of-the-art cardiac care and treatment to patients at their doorstep totally free of cost. From a single solo hospital, NICVD has been transformed into world’s largest healthcare network in short span of 4 years, included; 10 full-fledged hospitals and 21 Chest Pain Units.

On the occasion, Executive Director of NICVD, Prof. Nadeem Qamar termed the establishment of the 31st Centre at “Malir Cantonment” as another gift for the people of Karachi. Saying this Centre will link with the main NICVD, where all cardiac care facilities, including Primary PCI, Angioplasty, Cardiac Surgeries and other state-of-the-art facilities are available.****

APRIL 03, 2021 – NICVD OPENS ITS 30TH CENTRE IN TANDO ALLAHYAR

KARACHI: The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in collaboration with the Sindh government has established its 30th centre at Tando Allahyar district headquarter hospital to treat patients with chest pain free of cost.

Pakistan Peoples Party’s MNA Zulfiqar Sattar Bachani told journalists after formally inaugurating the chest pain unit on Thursday that the centre was a “gift” for Tando Allahyar and its peripheries, which would be linked with NICVD Hyderabad, where all cardiac care facilities, including primary PCI, angioplasty, echocardiography, OPD, admission and other state-of-the-art facilities were available, said a handout.

He said that NICVD has introduced a new trend in heart care with the inauguration of chest pain units (CPUs) to serve the nation at the most easily accessible points. This service was available 24/7 throughout the year, he said.

NICVD executive director Prof Nadeem Qamar said in his message that CPUs were well-equipped to identify patients with an acute heart attack and resuscitate the patients who become unstable. CPUs were designed for providing preliminary emergency care to heart attack patients, he said, adding that after providing initial treatment, the patient was shifted immediately to tertiary care set-up.

NICVD IN COLLABORATION WITH SINDH GOVT ESTABLISHES NEW BUILDING AT HYDERABAD

HYDERABAD: National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases – NICVD in collaboration with the Government of Sindh has established the new building of NICVD Hyderabad at Qasimabad, Wadhu Wah Road, Hyderabad to provide cardiology Services to the population of Sindh Province at their doorstep totally free of cost.

The soft opening of the new building of NICVD Hyderabad was performed by Executive Director of NICVD, Professor Nadeem Qamar on independence day.The NICVD Hyderabad is another milestone to serve the population of Sindh, with a vision to benefit patients with early and easy access to quality heart healthcare facilities.

The NICVD Hyderabad has world-class cardiac facilities included; 24/7 emergency service, Primary PCI, Angioplasty, Angiography, Echocardiography, adult & paeds cardiology, electrophysiology, consulting clinics, etc. The facility of cardiac surgery will be started very soon.
